Turn your business idea into profit

Turn your business idea into profit

With the Internet, opportunities are abounding for normal everyday people to start making money on the side. The Internet is a good place to start something on the side, to make a difference in people’s lives, and to future proof income streams.

People may want to start our own side gig or home business but don’t know how or where to start. Regardless of whether you are one of them or not, and have any business ideas or not, there’s a great mountain ahead to climb and overcome.

“Where do I start making money”, “how do I start a business”, “how do I develop and sell my products or services”, and “what platform do I use”, are just a few nagging questions you may be asking yourself or have asked yourself when you contemplated making more money for yourself.

Whilst it may be difficult to find the perfect money-making idea for your side gig, it’s actually the execution that’s holding people back.

There’s the fear of failure, the cost associated with starting a business, the lack of business skills, etc.

In reality, you need to play it safe. You need to manage your risk. You also need some quick wins to prove to yourself that you can profit or make money from starting a side business for yourself.

The myth of passive income

First off, you need to understand that there’s no such thing as ‘passive income’. No matter what, you’ll need to invest serious time and effort to establish and continuously maintain that income stream.

In some cases, it means spending time on a regular basis to nurture your business. In others, that means investing significant time to build something upfront, and collect income passively in the future.

In most cases, you’ll also need to spend many hours learning, practicing and perfecting your approach. Developing that ‘passive’ income stream really demands more time, effort and attention than people pushing for them are willing to admit.

Beware of tactical hell, fueled by ‘experts’

You will soon find out that there are no shortage of people, experts, or gurus telling you what to do – “How to Make Every Blog Article You Write Rank High in Google Search”, “11 Best Video Editing Apps You Must Use”, “Top 9 Mistakes Of Ecommerce Store Site Design”, “27 Amazing Online Marketing Tactics for Small Businesses With Low Budgets”, “How to Optimise Your Facebook Ads”, “A Simple Trick To Get 10X More Facebook Shares And Likes For Your Posts”, “105 Content Promotion Tactics”, etc. are just a few example of articles that can be randomly found on the Internet. You may have read them too.

The bottom line is that there’s no shortage of tips, tricks, and tactics to get you started to make money online. In fact, there’s more than 149,000 articles online with the words “make”, “more”, and “money” in their titles.

Experts show off their credentials with screen shots of how much money they have earned in the past. It does look impressive. Wouldn’t it be great if you could also make that same amount of money, I hear you say to yourself?

Well, there’s no such thing as a free lunch. There’s no such thing as a ‘get rich quick scheme’. It does take hard work, time, perseverance, and long-term commitment to earn the amount of money advertised. What these people don’t tell you are their struggles they went through in earning that amount of money.

There are experts and there are experts. There are ‘experts’ who do not give you the complete picture. They will only concentrate on what they know best, which may not be the best strategy or solution for you. They will only tell or sell you specific tricks, tips, and tactics. You are left on your own to develop the big picture for yourself. They will sell you things that they know well, not what’s good for you.

You may have paid some money to join courses or purchased products and e-books online to help you along your money-making journey. There are ‘junkies’ who will go after each and every shining new idea that is introduced to them in the hope of making money quickly, to strike rich quickly, without having any intention of staying for the long term.

After reading numerous articles or joining online courses on how to get rich making money on the side, you get more confused. You get more overwhelmed with information and tactics. You run around chasing your tail, doing this and that, trying this and that, and spending countless hours and effort on unproductive work.

The bottom line is this. Don’t get bogged down with tactics that don’t earn you any money. Don’t get stuck in tactical hell. Don’t chase every new shinning object or idea that you hear about.
