Hi, I’m Patrick.
If you are like me, I hate going for non-value-adding training that was just a waste of time, effort, or money. Sometimes, I wonder why I am attending these sessions. Oh, yes, it’s for my CPD hours (to maintain my professional qualification), my employer ‘forced’ me to attend, or even, just being curious myself.
And one more thing. I have also attended many training and courses, and read so many books, articles, and documents with over-engineered and complicated content. Instead of gaining any clarity, I got more confused and frustrated.
So, I told myself that I will never repeat these mistakes if I had the chance when I am training people. For me, it’s about giving people valuable content that is practical, simplified, and implementable, wherever possible. Granted, there will be some topics that are inherently technical and any simplification will not do justice to them.
I am a firm believer that as we are all operating in uncertain, complex, or complicated environments, simplification will be the key to our success. More so, when we embark on the journey of lifelong learning and development.
